Green My Plate was founded in 2019 by Will and Jess, two event managers who saw firsthand the scale of waste generated at events from single-use food and beverage packaging.

Having worked across internationally renowned events including Glastonbury Festival, London Olympics, Rhythm and Vines, Falls Festival and Splendour in the Grass, they understood the operational pressures event teams face and the challenges of implementing sustainable initiatives in fast-paced live event environments.

From the beginning, it was important to create more than just a reusable product hire service. Will and Jess set out to build a fully managed closed-loop system that would make reusables practical, scalable and easy for event organisers to implement.

Designed by event managers, Green My Plate’s system was built to support every stakeholder involved in an event. The model is designed to be seamless for patrons, easy for vendors and operationally efficient for organisers—allowing events to reduce waste without increasing workload for internal teams.

Supported by trained staff, Green My Plate manages the distribution, collection, washing and logistics behind the reusable system so event organisers can stay focused on delivering the event itself.

Since launching, Green My Plate has helped divert hundreds of thousands of single-use items from landfill across major events, festivals, universities and public spaces.

What began as an idea between two event managers has grown into a trusted reusable service supporting major events, venues, universities and councils across Victoria and beyond.
