Green My Plate was founded by Will and Jess, two event managers who saw firsthand the scale of waste created at events - particularly from single-use food packaging. While reusable cup systems were becoming common, there was no large-scale solution for plates. That gap sparked their lightbulb moment: to create a system that makes reusables simple, scalable, and effective for events of all sizes.
Drawing on their experience across operations, customer service, food vending, and patron engagement, Will and Jess designed a closed-loop system that supports every side of an event. The model ensures no compromise for customers or vendors, while allowing organisers to stay focused on what they do best - running the event.
Since launching, Green My Plate has helped save thousands of single-use items from landfill at major events, festivals, and universities. At its core, Green My Plate is about practical sustainability - solutions that are good for the planet, easy for vendors, and seamless for event-goers.
Our goal is simple: to make reusables the new normal across Australia and New Zealand, so events are remembered for their experiences - not their waste.
